The 2024 version of the 80GP S (80APO PRO) apochromatic refractor telescope features structural upgrades for improved performance. The previous rotating focuser mechanism has been removed to prevent unintended rotation during use. The telescope now incorporates the same lightweight dual tube rings and mini handle design as the 70GP S (70APO PRO), creating a more compact and streamlined appearance. A new field rotator is integrated at the rear of the focuser tube, providing a smoother and more precise rotation for framing during imaging. Without changing the dew shield diameter, the 80GP S (80APO PRO) also features a hidden front flange plate, which allows fine adjustment of the focal plane if needed during photography. Optically, the 2024 80GP S (80APO PRO) continues the classic air-spaced triplet apochromatic design. Each telescope undergoes rigorous quality inspection using artificial star testing and laser interferometry, ensuring excellent control of chromatic and spherical aberration while maintaining consistent, high-quality performance.
