March 2025: I bought the Sky Rover 100 APO BINO with the stock 18 mm eyepieces and bought a second set of 7 mm UWA eyepieces in January of this year. I own an Astro Physics refractor and I know what optical quality is. I am quite happy with the performance of this Binocular Telescope and they truly are APO quality binoculars. Bright objects like Venus or the moon do not show color fringes at all. The field is fairly flat and watching Jupiter transit the field the image stays sharp. The two cloud bands show up quite well in the 7s and you can see the polar regions are shaded. 80 power is not enough for Mars, but I could see the polar cap and Syrtus Major when Mars was closer back in January. I also watched the Occultation of Mars with a pair of 11 Naglers, 50X, and it was very nice in the instrument. To conclude, the 45 degree eyepiece configuration is perfect and the eyepieces are of decent quality. I quite like them. I will put them to good use studying the sky. I consider this to be money well spent. The binoculars weigh 16 lbs or 7.26 kg. The shipping case is great and has a lot of room inside it and it is adequate to protect the binoculars in transit. But it is a bit large. I already had a Pelican 1600 case and the binoculars fit in with only a few cm to spare in the length of the binoculars. The case is shorter by 4" in width and 1" in height and 1" in thickness. This case is a better fit for carrying the binoculars around or stowing away in my car. I would not ship the binoculars in it, but it is more compact. I thank Sky Rover for their nice product. 2025/03/05
